Derived from the Post 50 Convertible, the 56 Convertible is the largest boat Post ever built during their many years in business. Like her sisterships in the Post fleet, she’s built on a good-running modified-V hull with very modest transom deadrise, cored hullsides, and a solid fiberglass bottom. The three-stateroom, two-head layout of the Post 56 is fairly standard for a convertible this size with a midships owner’s cabin and the galley forward in the salon, opposite the dinette. Under-counter refrigeration maximizes counter space in the galley, and a washer/dryer unit is accessed from the hallway. Lacquered teak joinery—grain-matched and hand-fitted—is used throughout the interior, a Post trademark for many years. The cockpit, which measures more than 12 feet in length, is fitted with tackle storage, bait freezer, two fish boxes, transom livewell, and direct access to the spacious and well-engineered engine room. The flybridge is huge with plenty of guest seating, rod storage beneath the console, and single-lever controls. A fast ride with 1,300hp 12-cylinder MANs, the Post 56 Convertible will cruise at 31–32 knots and reach a top speed of 35+ knots.
