The Ocean 55 Sunliner is basically a 55 Super Sport with a full-width aft cabin replacing the Super Sport’s spacious cockpit. Like all Ocean designs, the Sunliner rides on a low-deadrise, modified-V hull with a sweeping sheer and a well-flared bow. Her roomy three-stateroom, three-head interior is arranged with the galley and dinette down and two staterooms forward, a configuration that results in a relatively compact salon for a yacht this size. All three heads have separate stall showers (note that the forward head is in the forepeak), and the double berth in the bow stateroom is angled to save space. The Sunliner’s master stateroom is huge with excellent storage, a built-in washer/dryer, and a tub/shower in the ensuite head. Topside, the full-width aft deck is fitted with wing doors and enclosure panels for weather protection, and the flybridge is arranged with bench seating forward of the helm. Additional features include a teak bow pulpit, swim platform, and an aft deck wet bar. A good performer, standard 600hp GM 8V92s cruise the 55 Sunliner at 20–22 knots. Optional 675hp versions of these motors are a couple of knots faster.
