With her European profile and megayacht appearance, the Ocean Alexander 66 was considered one of the more impressive big Taiwan-built motor yachts of her era. If the published weight of 71,000 pounds is even close to being accurate, she was also one of the lightest—a fact that helps account for her good performance with relatively small (for a 66-footer) 8V92 Detroit diesels. Below deck, the layout is arranged with the full-width salon and glass-enclosed afterdeck on the deckhouse level with the added convenience of a day head forward, opposite the galley. There are luxurious accommodations below for six guests in three double staterooms. The opulent, full-width master stateroom has a king bed in addition to a tub in the private head compartment. Topside, the enormous flybridge provides an entertainment platform of vast dimensions and includes a wet bar and ice maker. Additional features include a walk-in engine room, port and starboard pilothouse wing doors, and a roomy aft deck area. Among several engine options, twin 735hp 8V92 diesels cruise the Ocean Alexander 66 at 17–18 knots.
