The Nordhavn 47 is a ballasted, full-displacement trawler designed to carry her owners in safety and comfort anywhere in the world. Like all Nordhavns, the 47 is built to quality standards seldom encountered in a production yacht including commercial-grade doors and windows, redundant systems, and solid fiberglass hull construction. Entering from the cockpit through a large Dutch door, the elegant salon is arranged with a dinette to starboard and full settee to port. Forward, the U-shaped galley includes Sub-Zero refrigeration and a granite counter that serves as a breakfast bar. The interior is light teak with a satin finish and teak and spruce flooring throughout. The heart of the Nordhavn 47 is her ship-like pilothouse with its dinette, Stidd chair, watch berth, and handsome wraparound helm. Below, both staterooms have private ensuite heads. The standup engine room is reached from the master stateroom. A 40hp Yanmar auxiliary diesel is located abaft of the main engine. A single 170hp Lugger main engine—keel-cooled with a dry stack exhaust—will cruise the Nordhavn 47 at 8 knots with a range approaching 3,000 nautical miles. About 60 of these exceptional yachts were built.
