The Monterey 275 Sport Yacht (called the 260 SCR in 200912; 260 Sport Yacht in 201014) is an entry-level sport cruiser that looks good, sleeps four, and delivers a full range of popular features in a trailerable package. The layout is similar to most pocket cruisers her sizewraparound cockpit seating for six, generous swim platform, and a mid-cabin interior with convertible dinette and near standing headroom. Numerous cockpit storage areas assure that everything finds a place, and wide molded steps in the cabin door allow safe access to the bow which comes standard with a sun lounge. The cockpit has a wet bar, double helm seat, and engine access under the aft seating. The helm area features a titanium gel coated dash with fog resistant gauges, tilt steering, and trim tab indicators with auto retract. Below, the Sport Yachts interior is an appealing blend of leather upholstery, solid-surface counters, and simulated teak flooring. The head compartment is surprisingly large. As with most boats in her class, a generator and air conditioning are optional. The Monterey 260/275 tops out at close to 35 knots with a single 320hp MerCruiser sterndrive engine.
