Marine Trader Yachts Med 56 Montechristo
Built by Angel Marine in Taiwan and imported by Marine Trader, the Med 56 Montecristo is an enclosed aft deck motor yacht with a distinctive profile and a traditional all-teak interior. Aside from her enclosed aft deck (which turns this area into a huge, fully paneled and air-conditioned second salon), the Montecristo’s chief claim to fame was her low price compared with similarly equipped U.S.-built yachts. She’s constructed on a solid fiberglass modified-V hull with moderate beam and a long, shallow keel. Her three-stateroom, galley-down floorplan is arranged with double berths fore and aft and single berths in the third stateroom which is aft of the salon. Most were delivered with an optional lower helm station, and the two aft heads share a common shower stall. (Note that the forward head is split with the shower to port and the toilet compartment opposite.) Topside, the flybridge will seat a small crowd. Additional features include excellent storage, wide side decks, a swim platform, and radar arch. While the 56 Montecristo was offered with standard 210hp Cummins diesels )8–10 knots at cruise), most were sold with larger engines.
