Marine Trader Yachts 36 Sundeck
The Marine Trader 36 Sundeck is an inexpensive trawler-style design whose principal appeal resides in her modern sundeck profile, full teak interior, and a low price. Like most Asian trawlers of her era, the 36 rides on a solid fiberglass hull with hard aft chines, a well-flared bow, and a long, prop-protecting keel. Below, her two-stateroom interior is arranged with the galley and dinette down a few steps from the salon. The forward stateroom is fitted with a space-saving offset double berth, while the master stateroom features a walkaround double as well as a tub/shower in the head. With the galley and dinette down, the main salon is very open and includes a sliding deck access door at the helm. Outside, there’s space on the full-width sundeck for a few chairs, and seating for five is provided on the flybridge. Additional features include a radar arch, teak swim platform, bow pulpit, serviceable side decks, and an aft-deck wet bar. Engine choices for the Marine Trader 36 Sundeck (and there were many over the years) include twin 90hp or 135hp Lehman diesels or a single 210hp Cummins diesel. All provide an economical cruising speed of 7–8 knots.
