Aside from her powerful lines and mega-wide 18-foot beam, the most striking feature of the Luhrs 50 Convertible was her unique “BridgeWalk” staircase connecting the bridge to the cockpit—a feature that found its way into many convertible yachts in subsequent years. This is a huge 50-footer with the cockpit and cabin dimensions of many larger boats. There are three staterooms and two heads below. The master and VIP staterooms feature walkaround double berths and private ensuite heads and stall showers. The third stateroom offers over/under berths for crew or extra guests. A full-service galley with hardwood flooring, Corian counters, and island bar is forward to starboard in the salon, opposite an L-shaped dinette. The 50 Convertible was marketed by Luhrs as a tournament-ready yacht complete with insulated fish boxes, livewell, freezer, tackle center, fresh and saltwater washdowns, sink and storage. Topside, the flybridge features a standard hardtop, spreader lights, space for flush-mounting electronics, and wet bar with refrigerator. Twin 800hp Cat diesels cruise at 26–27 knots (30+ knots top), and optional 1,350hp 12-cylinder Cats cruise at 31–32 knots (mid 30s top).
