There have been few small flybridge boats built in recent years, a fact that made the Luhrs 32 Convertible something of a rarity when she came out in 2001. This is a good-looking boat (note that the flybridge is an integral part of the superstructure mold) with attractive lines and a surprisingly comfortable interior. Indeed, the interior of the 32 Convertible may be compact, but Luhrs engineers managed to put the available space to good use. There’s an offset double berth in the forward stateroom, a separate stall shower in the head, an efficient galley, and salon seating for three or four adults. Like all of Luhr’s current fleet of convertibles, a set of molded steps leads up to the flybridge. The cockpit, with just over 50 square feet of fishing space, is fitted with a transom door, transom fish box, and a bait prep center forward with livewell. Additional features include a half-tower with rocket launchers, raw-water washdown, cockpit lights, and a bow pulpit. A capable performer with standard 310hp gas inboards, the Luhrs 32 Convertible will cruise at 20 knots and reach a top speed in the neighborhood of 30 knots. Note that production lasted only two years.
