Larson’s reputation for delivering a lot of boat for the money was on full display with the introduction in 2003 of the 310 Cabrio, a roomy midcabin cruiser whose moderate price included an impressive inventory of standard equipment. Built on a solid fiberglass hull with a notched bottom, the Cabrio’s wide-open interior is dominated by a curved lounge that extends from the head compartment all the way around to the galley. A dinette table is to port, and the midcabin is tucked behind the companionway steps, which leaves it open to the salon. Privacy curtains separate the sleeping areas from the main cabin, and the head contains a separate stall shower—a luxury on any 30-foot boat. On deck, the cockpit has a U-shaped settee aft as well as a wet bar, and the driver’s side of the double helm seat has a drop-down bolster for standup driving. A large transom locker stores fenders and dock lines, etc. There are no side decks on the Cabrio, so a walk-through windshield—with no handrail—provides access to the foredeck. A tilt wheel, radar arch, and transom shower were standard. Among several sterndrive options, twin 280hp Volvo gas engines cruise in the low 30s and reach a top speed of 40+ knots.
