Jersey 36 Dawn
A handsome boat with graceful lines, the Jersey 36 Dawn is a traditional East Coast fishing boat from a company whose reputation for building a quality product was well known during the 1980s and 1990s. She was built on a low-deadrise, solid fiberglass hull with moderate beam, a sharp entry, and substantial flare at the bow. The 36 was available with several interior configurations during her production years, all of which were rather dark due to their abundant teak woodwork. The original galley-down layout was followed in 1991 with new twin-stateroom and dinette interiors, and all three floorplans featured a double berth in the forward stateroom as well as a separate stall shower in the head. (Note that the front windshield was eliminated in the 36.) The cockpit—which is very spacious for a 36-footer—came with a recessed fish box, molded tackle center, and transom door. Topside, the flybridge originally had the helm console to starboard; in 1991 it was updated and the helm was repositioned on the centerline for improved sightlines. Standard 350hp gas engines cruise at 19–20 knots and top out in the high 20s, while optional 375hp Cat diesels cruise in the low 20s.
