With her affordable price and spacious, all-teak interior, the Jefferson 37 Sundeck was designed to appeal to cruising families interested in a low-price yacht with big-boat accommodations. Like most Jefferson models of her era, she was built on a low-deadrise, solid fiberglass hull with a shallow keel and an unusually wide 14-foot, 5-inch beam. A pair of two-stateroom, galley down floorplans were offered in the 37 Sundeck, both with double berths in each stateroom and a standard lower helm station. (Note that in both layouts, the forward head is accessible from the guest stateroom only.) This is a workable interior layout—it’s no mean feat to design a roomy double-cabin boat on a 37-foot hull, and neither the master stateroom nor aft deck are as small as one might expect in a boat this size. Typical of most Asian-built boats, the interior is completely finished out with solid teak woodwork and cabinetry. A hardtop, transom shower, swim platform, and bow pulpit were standard. Twin 300hp Cummins diesels cruise the 37 Sundeck at 18–19 knots. The Jefferson 40 Cockpit MY is the same boat with a small cockpit extension.
