Building on the success of the innovative NC 9 and NC 11 models, the Jeanneau NC 14 promises to offer “an apartment on the water with terrace” to quote the French builder. Daytime living spaces, including a dining area and a very attractive galley, are arranged around a spacious main deck salon with a floorplan designed on a single level. Opposite the helm on the port side is a booth dinette for four people, and behind the helm is a U-shaped sofa with an adjustable high/low table. The aft salon bulkhead consists of three glass sliding doors that stow away, and under the salon floor is the biggest surprise of all—a large utility room with space for a washer/dryer and plenty of gear. There are two staterooms below, both with standing headroom, and buyers can select a layout with one or two heads. In the forward owner’s stateroom, the island berth separates to become two single beds. The swim platform is extendable thanks to the sliding transom settee that also converts to a sun pad with dining table. At just over 22,000 pounds, the NC 14 is an extremely weight efficient boat. Twin IPS500 370hp Volvo D4 diesels—small engines for a 42' boat—cruise at 24–26 knots (30+ top).
