The Henriques 44 SF is a dedicated Jersey-style sportfisherman with a traditional profile and what is easily the largest fishing cockpit in her class. She’s built on a solid fiberglass hull with moderate beam and a shallow keel for directional stability. While many convertible builders are quick to sacrifice cockpit space for a bigger interior, Henriques boats are known for their big cockpits. In the case of the Henriques 44, that translates into a huge, completely uncluttered 170-square-foot fishing platform—more than enough space to satisfy the requirements of the most demanding tournament activities. Among the many standard features offered in the 44 was a pair of 120-gallon fish boxes, complete tackle and bait-prep station, livewell, and fresh and saltwater washdowns. Several single and twin-stateroom floorplans were available over the years, all fully paneled and finished with teak or—after 1998—light ash woodwork. Most 44s were sold with an optional Plexiglas bridge enclosure. Among several engine choices, twin 550hp 6V92 diesels cruise in the mid 20s (28–29 knots top), and newer models with 660hp Cats cruise in the high 20s and reach well over 30 knots top.
