Henriques
35 Maine Coaster
1978–99
Until the year 2000, the 35 Maine Coaster had been around in one form or another since Henriques started building boats back in 1977. A sturdy and well-built fisherman, she’s constructed on a solid fiberglass modified-V hull with moderate beam, a relatively sharp entry, and flat aftersections. By far the most notable aspect of the Henriques is her spacious 120-square-foot cockpit, certainly one of the largest to be found in a boat this size. A pair of single-stateroom layouts were offered during her production run, and buyers could choose to have the galley up or down. A lower helm was also available, and the interior is finished out with traditional teak woodwork and cabinetry. Given her generous cockpit dimensions, the salon of the Henriques 35 is small compared with other 35-foot convertibles. Topside, the centerline helm is forward on the flybridge with bench seating aft. Several single- and twin-engine options were offered over the years. Among them, twin 250hp Cummins diesels cruise at 20 knots (23–24 knots top), and a pair of 350hp Cats cruise at 23 knots with a top speed in the neighborhood of 27–28 knots.
