The Hampton 680 Pilothouse is a beautifully crafted cruising yacht whose sleek styling and spacious accommodations offer buyers an affordable alternative to expensive European yachts. Built in China, the 680 is a comfortable and well-planned yacht. A wide 18'4"" beam allows for three staterooms below, each with an ensuite head (the master’s with a whirlpool tub), built-in TV, and premium sound system. Crew quarters, accessible through the transom door or by a salon staircase, include a single berth, head, and mini-galley with washer/dryer. The social center of the 680 is likely to be the pilothouse since this is where the galley and dinette are located. A pass-thru from the galley to the dinette is a thoughtful touch, and the excellent finish of the cherry woodwork found throughout the yacht is notable. The salon—with nearly seven feet of headroom—is large enough to entertain a small crowd. Twin watertight doors lead from the side decks to the pilothouse. Engineered for serious passagemaking, the 680’s Kevlar-reinforced collision zone extends from the bow area aft under water and then out to port and starboard another 12 feet. Cat C18 1,015hp diesels cruise at 16–18 knots (20+ knots top).
