Grand Banks broke with the past in 2007 with the introduction of the 47 Heritage CL (Classic) and her sistership, the 47 Heritage EU (Europa). The styling is unmistakably Grand Banks, but these new models are built on modified-V hulls rather than the older semi-displacement hulls that characterized previous Grand Bank boats. Trawler enthusiasts may lament this changesemi-displacement hulls have advantages that cant easily be ignored; fuel economy, for instancebut the boating public wants performance in their trawlers these days and now they have it in the Grand Banks Heritage series. The accommodations of the 47 Heritage CL are similar to earlier Classic models with an expansive salon housing an L-shaped dinette to starboard, U-shaped galley forward to port, and lower helm seat opposite. (The step-down galley, however, differs from past Grand Banks layouts.) Both the master and guest staterooms in the standard interior are exceptionally spacious. An alternate three-stateroom interior is optional. Hatches in the aft deck access a huge storage lazarette. Note the pop-up instrument panel at the upper helm station. Cummins 500hp diesels cruise at 1416 knots (20+ knots top).
