The Grady-White 270 Islander is an updated version of the company’s earlier 268 Islander (1995–2001) with revised cockpit and helm layouts, and a reworked bottom with an extended running surface to support newer high-horsepower motors. Grady-White designers always get their cockpits right—good nonskid, premium hardware and fittings, above-deck livewell and fish box—everything built to last and within easy reach. Standard features include an integrated swim platform, foldaway rear seat, 34-gallon livewell, transom door, insulated fish box, deluxe helm seats, lockable electronics box, cockpit bolsters, aft-facing cockpit seats, gunnel rod holders, raw-water washdown, trim tabs, and rod storage racks. A bow pulpit, anchor windlass, and fiberglass hardtop with rod holders and radio box were popular options. Below deck, the Islander’s slender cabin includes a compact galley with stove and refrigerator, enclosed head/shower, convertible dinette/V-berth, and rod storage racks. A heavily built boat, the 270 Islander will reach a top speed of close to 40 knots with Yamaha 225hp outboards.
