Formula 28 PC
Midcabin boats were rapidly gaining in buyer acceptance during the mid 1980s and Formula was one of many manufacturers to incorporate this now-standard floorplan in their evolving line of express cruisers. The 28 PC was considered an upscale boat during her production years, and her rugged construction and stylish hull graphics allowed her to age gracefully well into the 1990s. Below deck, the mid-cabin floorplan is arranged with the forward stateroom separated from the salon by a bi-fold door—a configuration seldom seen in newer boats with their more open layouts. (Note, however, that a section of the upholstered wall separating the salon from the forward stateroom is actually a sliding panel: leave it down for a more open salon.) The aft cabin includes facing settees and game table that convert to a double bed at night. In the cockpit, L-shaped lounge seating is opposite the helm, and the engine compartment (the hatch rises hydraulically) is huge. Additional features include an integral bow pulpit, a sturdy bow rail, swim platform and boarding ladder. A good performer, twin 260hp stern drives cruise at 22–23 knots (mid 30s top).
