43 Phantom
2000–04
Fairline consistently builds good-looking boats with sporty lines and well-finished interiors. The 43 Phantom follows in that tradition with a sleek, eye-catching profile and a thoughtful two-stateroom floorplan that strikes a good balance between comfort and practicality. Like nearly all European flybridge yachts, the Phantom comes with an elevated lower helm—a desirable feature that in this case provides excellent visibility both fore and aft. The master stateroom is at the bow and the guest cabin is to starboard, directly below the lower helm. Both are equipped with a private head and stall shower. The galley is down, opposite the guest stateroom, where it benefits from plenty of storage. On deck, the cockpit has an integral transom seat and a huge storage lazarette under the sole, and there’s an immense lounge area aft of the flybridge helm position. Additional features include cherry interior woodwork, a flybridge wet bar, port and starboard electric cabin windows, wide side decks, and a teak cockpit sole. On the downside, the engine room is a tight fit. A good performer, 480hp Volvo diesels cruise the 43 Phantom at 27 knots and reach 31–32 knots top.
