Designed with a greater emphasis on speed than most other Downeast-style boats of her type, the Duffy 35 is a seaworthy custom cruiser with distinctive lines and tremendous eye appeal. She’s constructed on a solid fiberglass hull with a fine entry, hard chines aft, and a full-length keel that provides protection for the underwater gear. Like most of the true Downeast designs, a fully equipped Duffy 35 was priced at the higher end of the market for boats in her size range. Aside from the salty lines, her great attraction is a traditional blend of New England craftsmanship and lasting value. The Duffy is a versatile boat with a cockpit large enough for serious fishing and an efficient interior layout well-suited for extended cruising. Features found in the sedan (pictured above) include a deckhouse galley, complete lower helm station, a large stall shower, and excellent access to the engine. An economical boat to operate, a single Cat 375hp diesel (or 420hp Cat in later models) will produce a brisk cruising speed of 24–25 knots and a top speed of about 28 knots. The Duffy 35 has been built in flybridge, hardtop and Picnic Boat configurations.
