45 Alegria

2004–09

Doral 45 Alegria
Doral’s flagship model, the 45 Alegria was a state-of-the-art sport yacht when she was introduced in 2004. She was Doral's first attempt at a boat over 36 feet, a bold undertaking for a Canadian builder where the pleasure boat market is only a fraction of what it is south of the boarder. Built on a modified deep-V hull with nearly 14 feet of beam, the Alegria is a roomy boat on deck with several innovative features. The cockpit’s curvy seating plan differs from most yachts in her class, and the center windshield panel retracts electrically for easy bow access. Below, the Alegria’s spacious two-stateroom, two-head interior is a sophisticated blend of lacquered cherry cabinets, Ultraleather seating, and premium hardware and appliances. A fully furnished galley is to port in the salon, opposite a six-person curved leather sofa. Note the seven-foot headroom—no one will feel claustrophobic in this express. A fiberglass hardtop was standard, and a hydraulic swim platform (optional) can stow a dingy or personal watercraft. Early models with 480hp Volvo inboards top out at close to 30 knots. Newer Alegrias with 435hp Volvo IPS drives cruise at 26 knots and reach the low 30s wide open.
