Doral

250 SC

1996–98

Designing a 25-foot family cruiser with standing cabin headroom always results in a boat with a top-heavy profile. Some look better than others, of course, and the Doral 250 SC comes off a little better than most in the styling department. Introduced in 1997, she’s well built on a conventional modified-V hull with a full inner liner, cored hullsides, and a moderate 8-foot, 8-inch beam. (Note that she exceeds by 2 inches all US state’s legal width limits for trailering without a permit.) The midcabin interior of the 250 SC is arranged in the traditional manner with berths for four, a small galley area, and an enclosed standup head with sink and hand shower. The U-shaped dinette forward converts into V-berths and an athwartships double-berth is aft, under the bridgedeck. Topside, the simulated walnut dash of the 250 SC is very handsome indeed. A two-person settee is opposite the helm, and a rear bench seat in the cockpit folds away to allow access to the engine compartment. Additional features include a retractable arch, walk-through windshield, and a foredeck sun pad. A single 5.7-liter sterndrive will cruise the Doral 250 SC at 19–20 knots (about 38 knots top).
