300 Prestancia
1989–95
The 300 Prestancia was a popular model in the Doral fleet during her extended 6-year production run, and used models continue to enjoy a good deal of popularity in both the Canadian and northern U.S. markets. Built in Quebec on a fully cored, deep-V hull, her 10-foot beam is wide for a 28-foot boat. While she lacks the modern integrated swim platform seen in her more modern counterparts, the Prestancia’s conservative lines benefit from her curved windshield, subdued hull graphics, radar arch, and fully integrated bow pulpit. With no interior bulkheads, the interior is wide open with privacy curtains for both staterooms, full galley, standup head, and a U-shaped dinette that converts into a huge 6-foot, 8-inch double berth. Seating for six is provided in the cockpit (a bench seat is hidden in the transom), and a convenient hot-and-cold shower is recessed into the transom as well. A well-finished boat inside and out, standard 4.3-liter MerCruiser I/Os cruise the 300 Prestancia at a respectable 18 knots (26–28 top), and optional 5.7-liter I/Os cruise in the mid-to-high 20s with a top speed of nearly 40 knots.
