Built after 1988 by Roscioli International (when they purchased the molds from Donzi), the Donzi 65 is an impressive display of big-time sportfishing elegance. The beauty is more than skin deep; construction of the 65 was state of the art in her day with Divinycell hull coring and a long list of exotic materials used to create a strong and relatively lightweight structure. The hull is a modified-V design with a sharp entry forward and a moderate 12 degrees of transom deadrise. The Donzi’s cockpit is huge and so is her full-width flybridge with seating for a small crowd. Several three- and four-stateroom layouts were offered over the years, most with a wide-open salon with the dinette and galley forward. The interior woodwork (teak, oak, or pecan) and decor appointments are opulent in the extreme, and the workmanship is top-drawer throughout. Note that the spacious standup engineroom can be reached from the cockpit or through a door next to the crew quarters. While most 65s were sold with an open flybridge, a closed-bridge option was available in later years. A superb sea boat, twin 1,450hp 16V92 diesels cruise the Donzi 65 at 25–26 knots.
