The DeFever 49 Pilothouse profiled on this pagebuilt by CFT Marine in Taiwanshares the same model name as a sistership yacht produced by the Sen Koh yard, also in Taiwan. Both are constructed on semi-displacement hulls (the CTF boat has soft aft chines; the Sen Koh model has hard aft chines), and both share similar interior layouts. With her prominent bow and covered side decks, the DeFevers two-stateroom interior is ideal for the cruising couple. The salon is comfortable if not spacious, and the galley boasts a large pantry in addition to lots of counter space. Six steps up, the pilothouse includes an L-shaped settee and port/starboard deck access doors. Directly beneath the pilothouse is a spacious full-beam master stateroom with tremendous storage and private ensuite head. The guest stateroom with over/under berths is forward. Typical of most Asian imports of her day, solid teak cabinetry dominates the interior. Where the Sen Koh model has the flybridge sitting atop the raised pilothouse, the CTF boat has the flybridge positioned aft of the pilothouse resulting in a lower overall profile. Twin Lehman 135hp diesels cruise at 78 knots.
