The 32 Tournament (called the Contender 31 Tournament in 2008–10) is a proven tournament winner whose single-level layout, superior finish, and aggressive performance combine to rank her among the best boats in her class. The differences between the original 31 Open (1995–2007) and the newer 31 Tournament are modest—the 31T has a slightly larger console with side entrance to the head, and the console on the 31T is positioned further forward than it is on the 31 Open. Built on a traditional deep-V hull with a 9'8"" beam and an integrated transom, the deck is clutter-free from bow to stern. Contenders are semicustom boats and each is set up to an owner’s exact owners specifications. Standard features include four in-deck fish boxes (two 400-qt. boxes forward, two 225-qt. boxes aft), twin 40-gallon transom livewells, in-deck rod storage, anchor locker, leaning post with backrest, recessed bow rails, removable rear seat, K-plane trim tabs, and a transom door. The forward console seat lifts for access to wiring, etc. A fast ride, expect a top speed of nearly 50 knots with twin Yamaha F300 outboards. The Contender 32 ST is the same boat with a twin-stepped dull.
