The Buddy Davis 28 is a full-transom center console whose graceful sheer and distinctive Carolina flare have long been synonymous with the Davis brand. Known for its legendary ride, the Buddy Davis hull is designed to cut through steep head seas in comfort and security. The 28 is built on a deep-V hull with a wide 9'6"" beam, and it should be noted that her published 28-foot length includes the outboard bracket (making her more like a 26-footer in reality). Standard features include molded bow seating with storage under, recessed bow rails, cockpit rod storage, 40-gallon transom livewell, pop-up cleats, folding stern seat, raw-water washdown, console head/storage compartment, in-deck fish/storage (forward), anchor locker, leaning post/livewell with rod holders, cockpit bolsters, transom fish box, forward console seat with cooler, and trim tabs. An extensive list of factory options allows owners to customize the Davis 28 to their own requirements. Fit and finish is impressive. On the downside, the deck step going from the cockpit to the bow can be a trip hazard. A relatively light boat for her size, twin Yamaha 250s deliver a top speed in excess of 45 knots.
