In her day, the Blackfin 33 Combi was one of the standout midsize express boats in her class—a serious fishing machine for serious anglers. She was built on a solid fiberglass hull with low freeboard and a wide 12-foot beam. An expensive boat to begin with, the Combi gained a reputation for being an excellent head-sea boat. Her expansive cockpit is ideally arranged with lounge seating opposite the helm and a big fishing platform aft. The entire bridge deck lifts hydraulically for engine access. Standard features include a molded bow pulpit, insulated in-floor fish/storage boxes (2), raw-water washdown, transom door and gate, cockpit bolsters, above-deck livewell (aft of helm), windshield vents, teak-and-holly cabin sole, gunnel rod holders, L-shaped lounge seating, trim tabs, and tackle center. The Combi’s open-plan interior—updated in 1996 and 1998—with convertible dinette, enclosed head/shower, and full-service galley with microwave and refrigerator sleeps four. Most Combis were diesel-powered. A comfortable open-water ride, Volvo 430hp diesels cruise the 33 Combi at 25 knots (high 20s top).
