30 Flybridge

1989–96

Black Watch Yachts 30 Flybridge
A popular model for Black Watch during the early 1990s, the 30 Flybridge is a Hunt-designed deep-V cruiser whose solid construction and versatile design made her a class standout. Slightly top-heavy in appearance (thanks to an oversize flybridge), she’s built on a fully cored hull with a wide 10'11" beam. At just 12,000 pounds, the 30 is a relatively light boat for her size. Below, the surprisingly roomy interior of the Black Watch 30—with a standup head, convertible dinette, and adult-sized V-berths—is more than suitable for a few days away from home. The teak and holly cabin sole is a nice touch, and convenient storage cabinets and drawers are found throughout. The large 80-square foot cockpit of the Black Watch 30 came standard with an athwartships storage locker/fish box, and clever roll-back motor boxes provide good access to the engines. Additional features include large cabin windows, sturdy bow railings, anchor locker, and a molded bow pulpit. On the downside, the side decks are seriously narrow. Standard gas engines cruise in the low 20s (30+ knots top), and optional 300hp Cummins diesels cruise at an economical 25–26 knots.
