Black Watch Yachts 26 Express
The Black Watch 26 is a roomy, heavily built express designed for the kind of offshore work that keeps most boats her size tied up at the docks in bad weather. She’s built on a fully cored deep-V hull with a mega-wide 9'8" beam. Available with inboard or outboard power (inboard models are fitted with engine boxes), the Black Watch 26 provides anglers with a big fishing cockpit with two in-deck fish boxes and—in the outboard version—a 7-foot starboard rod locker. A 30-gallon livewell was standard, and there’s space at the helm console for flush-mounting a full array of electronic add-ons. Below deck, the accommodations include over/under V-berths, a small galley area, and an enclosed head compartment with shower—not bad for a small fishing boat. The side decks are wide enough for safe access to the bow, and sightlines from the helm are excellent. Several engine options were available during her production run. Those powered with twin 200hp outboards cruise in the mid 20s and reach a top speed of about 40 knots. Inboard models (available after 1990) with 240hp gas engines cruise at 25 knots (mid 30s top).
