By HMY Contributor   August 17, 2020

HMY Yacht Sales Professional Tony Maggio takes you aboard the impressive 2012 Viking Yachts 70’ Enclosed Bridge, Mirage. Quite possibly the best equipped 70 Viking in the market today. Upon entering this 70’ Enclosed Bridge, you’ll immediately notice the exceptional job Viking does on their interiors. The woodwork throughout is high-gloss, a beautiful feature. The second thing you'll notice when you walk into the 70 Viking is the convenient day head which is ideal for a fishing with a crew. When you're out on the cockpit getting a little dirty you can just walk right in and use your day head and walk right back out. The Octoplex system is located behind the day head. It controls just about everything on the boat with the touch of a button which has been a nice addition Viking has implemented in the last few years. The salon features an L -shaped ultra leather sofa with plenty of storage below, all the way around, which is great for storing fishing rods. There is a large pop-up flat-screen TV on an electric lift high low. High gloss teak valances throughout the boat are a very nice, rich addition. To the starboard side you have a u-shaped ultra leather dinette with a high-gloss table. Moving over to the island are three additional bar stools so you can seat about nine people very easily for mealtimes. Moving a little bit forward into the portside is the spacious galley. You’ll notice the trash compactor which is great for getting rid of all that trash that can build up on yachts. Plenty of storage throughout all of the galley drawers that will easily store any pots and pans. Up above is the microwave with doors that fold in, out of the way for an ease of use. On the countertop we have a four burner cooktop stove stainless steel sink and faucet. On the island you have six Sub Zero refrigerator freezer drawers. Another great feature about the island is not just that it's oversized and great for accommodating all guests but that it is accessible from both the port and the starboard side which makes it very easy to access even while you have two or three people working in the galley. Moving forward let's take a look at some of the storage behind the galley. There is custom built bottle storage and a large pantry that offers pullout drawers, really nice for accessing all your food and so forth. Just to the port side of that you have a large storage closet that also contains most of your electronic equipment and it has a custom built-in freezer.

Now to take a look at the accommodations down below on the Viking Yachts 70’ Enclosed Bridge. Immediately walking down the stairs to the port you would find the crew's quarters. In the companionway are several storage compartments that are built in. The owner’s cabin offers a large queen berth walk around. You'll notice throughout the owners cabin there is an abundance of storage thanks to drawers and cabinets. There is a cedar lined closet as well as a another hanging Locker, great for both his and hers wardrobes. There is also a nice flat screen Samsung TV at the foot of the bed.  Moving into the nicely appointed en suite head you’ll find Amtico flooring, granite countertops as well as a stall shower with a nice glass enclosure. Heading back into the companionway forward we have a full size washer and dryer, easy to access for anybody in the yacht. There are multiple central vac outlets throughout the boat including in the companionway. In the guest cabin you have upper and lower oversized bunks and the mattress has been upgraded for the utmost comfort. It also has a flat-screen TV. We have a hanging locker behind the door, multiple drawers for plenty of storage and an en-suite head which is a nice feature. Just like the owner’s head, the guest head has Amtico flooring, granite countertops, a stall shower and vacu flush head. All the way forward is the VIP stateroom which offers a nice queen berth walk around as well as port and starboard storage above the berth. There is a hatch which will allow natural sunlight or fresh air. Another nice ensuite head offering granite countertops,  high gloss teak vanity,  Amtico flooring and a stall shower. This VIP cabin is very spacious and a great place for your guests to stay.  Now let's explore the crew's quarters and the engine room. Just a few steps down to the port are some really great accommodations for the crew. Upon entering is an Octoplex remote system which is great for the captain to be able to access all the things that are going on in the boat or control the boat from his stateroom. Upper and lower bunks make for nice accommodations. Samsung flat-screen TV. The captain also has his own hanging Locker with plenty of drawer storage below that's actually very deep. Another nice ensuite head with granite countertops is included here, something you don't see in very many crew's quarters.  A big highlight of this space is the private access to the engine room which will also lead to the cockpit.

In the engine room you can clearly see what a fantastic job Viking does with their fit and finish throughout. The systems are very easy to maintain with an ease of access. This 2012 Viking Yachts 70’ EB is powered by M94 16v 2000 MTU series with 2600 horsepower. There are twin 27 and a half KW Onan generators, built in toolboxes, a Charles power system and this boat is equipped over and above with twin 1800 gallon per day Aquamatic water makers, two Dometic ice chippers. Should you have any problems with one you have a redundancy. Also, in the center of the engine room here you have the built-in oil transfer pump making it very easy to take care of your motors. Now we will head out onto the cockpit. The cockpit of the 70 Viking Mirage is all business and set up for the avid fisherman. From its teak covering boards, teak combings, teak cockpit to the Release fighting chair and then you have a aft transom it can be a Live Well fish box but this boat was also equipped with tuna tubes that can be removed or kept in. The tackle center features multiple drawers to keep all your tackle organized. Throughout the mezzanine you have refrigerated boxes. Underneath the mezzanine seating there is plenty of storage all the way across. The fish boxes have ice chipper dumps where the ice is going to flow into. On the starboard and port side you have both 12 volt and 24 volt outlets for any electric reels that you may use during your fishing trips. Over on the port side we have the tuna door which also has a lift gate which is nice for ease of access to those big ones that you can't just pull right over the side. If you're trying to do a little swimming, it's also a nice way to access the cockpit and an easy way to get back on board the boat. The mezzanine seating is a prime feature for watching the baits and on those hot days, having that AC blow down on you sure feels good.

Another key feature on the Viking Yachts 70 Mirage is access to the enclosed flybridge from the exterior as well as the interior. This climate controlled flybridge is not only a great command center but also a wonderful living space which offers plenty of storage throughout, a Samsung flat-screen TV and an L-shaped leather sofa with plenty of storage below all the way around. High gloss teak table as well and another thing the captain and the guests are sure to love is the refrigerator sub-zero drawer as well as a subzero freezer drawer. Moving forward is the captain's helm seat and port and starboard seating for guests. Looking at the helm we have an array of electronics throughout. We have the emergency backup controls we have a Garmin Chartplotter, Furuno Nav Net system. The Furuno has a chirp transducer. There are two MTU electronic engine displays, bow thruster, side power, the FLIR vision to help you with your night travels, MTU electronic controls, remote spotlight two Icom VHF s and of course another Octoplex which is great for the captain to be able to run the system's while he's running the boat. Ok let's continue outside to the aft deck on the flybridge here. So out here to the port side we have the aft helm station single lever controls bow thruster remotes are built into the controls, Furuno NavNet, a secondary side power control. Another really great feature about this boat is the 43 foot hydraulic outriggers. Switches here both port and starboard allow it to ease out and even without fighting to get the riggers in yourself. There are also four electric teaser reels. In the center is a Palm Beach Tower tuna Tower. The tuna Tower has single lever controls with a bow thruster remote, chartplotter and an Icom VHF. You're way up there and there's no better spot to see the fish swimming below there we are we have the starboard side aft mezzanine seating which has a custom built-in freezer very nice option.
