Viking Celebrates 60 Years with Four New Models

Viking Celebrates 60 Years with Four New Models

By Kimberly Smith   November 5, 2024

The Viking 74 and 82 join the Valhalla 28 Bay and 29 Hybrid for a tour de force of new boats from the industry-leading Viking Yacht Company.

(Fort Lauderdale, October 30, 2024)—Proving once again its status as the leading semi-custom boatbuilder in the world, the Viking Yacht Company held a press conference today at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) for the world premiere of two convertibles– the 74 and the 82. In addition, the New Jersey boat builder presented for the first time at FLIBS the new Valhalla Boatworks 28 Bay boat and 29 Hybrid center consoles.

Media members gathered at the Viking Yachts and Valhalla Boatworks in-water display on D-Dock at the Bahia Mar Marina for the event, where Healey showed each new model to the press while highlighting their many features.

With the 74, Viking pushes the throttles down yet again with another fast, sexy fish-raising monster. The four- or five-stateroom yacht comes on the heels of the incredibly successful Viking 72; Viking sold and delivered 75 boats of this model, and the 74 is destined for the same greatness. With a top speed of 45 knots, the Viking 74 will reign as the leading luxury sportfishing yacht between 70 and 80 feet.

The Viking 82 owns the ocean with commanding offshore performance. The 42-knot five-stateroom yacht features a luxurious interior, enormous cockpit, tournament-ready flybridge and immaculate engine room. Hull No. 1 served as the Viking demo boat, winning the prestigious Bermuda Triple Crown where she showed her prowess as a blue marlin magnet.

The same hands that construct our Viking sportfishing yachts build the Valhalla outboard-powered boats. The V-28 Bay and V-29 Hybrid burst onto the scene earlier this year, making their world premiere at the Palm Beach International Boat Show.

Their overall size provides a serious edge over the competition, delivering superior ride quality and extensive range. The V-29 and V-28 give you more horsepower and fuel capacity, storage and interior volume, deck space and fishability, and room for standard and optional equipment. The V-29 is a hardcore fish boat that can work the inshore reefs, fish the flats, hit the sandbar and cruise to the best waterfront restaurant for dinner – all in a day. The V-28 shines as a tournament competitor in many regions, whether it’s chasing tarpon, redfish and snook in the southeast or striped bass and flounder in the northeast.

Healey also briefed the press about an exciting new model from Valhalla Boatworks. The Valhalla 55 Sport Yacht is an evolution within the V Series that emphasizes comfort, style and accommodations in a high-performance luxury cruising yacht; she’s appointed with multiple cockpit configurations, a pilothouse with powered side doors and two staterooms in a fully appointed cabin complete with galley and dinette. The boat, powered by quad Mercury 600s, is expected to debut in late spring.

For the exclamation point to the event, Healey told the crowd about the launch of a new film to commemorate the company’s 60th anniversary: the 12-minute The Viking Legacy from Dark Fall Productions and Viking.
