Viking's Presence at the 2024 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show
Now that September is upon us, it’s hard to believe that the 2024 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) is less than 60 days away. Once again, the Viking Yacht Company is expected to have a commanding presence at this year’s show. As Viking finalizes its official lineup, the brand is expected to have numerous sportfish convertibles, as well as the majority of the Valhalla Boatworks lineup.
Included in this year’s convertible lineup will be hull #1 of the 82 Convertible, which will be making its international public debut. Hull #1 is an open bridge version that debuted to the Viking Dealer Network at the 2024 Dealer Meeting in Atlantic City, NJ. From there, this impressive battlewagon embarked on an impressive tournament campaign. The 82 started at The Big Rock in Moorehead City, NC, then made the long trek to Bermuda, where the Viking Demo Team won the Bermuda Triple Crown series. From Bermuda, the team demonstrated the might of the 82 Convertible by making multiple statements in the top Mid-Atlantic tournaments such as The White Marlin Open, The Mid-Atlantic, and The Pirates Cove Billfish Tournament in Manteo, NC. Customers will have the privilege of viewing all new 82 Convertible in person with its striking custom Pamlico Blue gelcoat hull color, complimented with its luxurious 5 stateroom 6 head layout. Along with the 82 Convertible, the Viking display is expected to include excellent examples of several models such as HMY’s 46 Billfish (Hull #46-326), an HMY customer ordered 54 Convertible with the optional molded-in staircase that will be traveling to Hilton Head, SC after the show, a 64 Convertible, and a 68 Convertible. On the opposite side of the Viking display will be the Valhalla lineup, which is expected to include the entire lineup from the V28 to the V55 center console.

Viking Team Member Spotlight: Forrest Robertson (The Robertsons)
Every month, HMY likes to spotlight a member of our Viking New Product Team. This month we caught up with Forrest Robertson, son of long-time HMY Yacht Sales Professional Jack Robertson, to talk to him about his upbringing in the industry and how that shapes his own career as a yacht broker.
"Ever since I was a young kid I can remember tagging along with my father, a yacht broker, on the weekends as he ran around listing and selling boats. These weekends were filled with meetings with customers, sea trials, going through a boat prior to survey and the occasional fishing trip once a boat had delivered. After giving corporate America a shot out of college, I knew my true interest was in the boating industry that eventually led me to HMY where my father has worked since 1997. Today my father and I work side by side and the relationships with the customers have grown even stronger as we can both complement each other through the evolution of the deal or the service after the sale. For the year 2023 my father and I were both recognized as top producing brokers for HMY. It is neat to get to share those moments with your father and the company that you have watched grow throughout your childhood and now are a part of.
