Mark always knew he wanted to be a yacht broker and has spent his lifetime learning the business. Born and raised on a bayou near Galveston, TX, Mark grew up boating with his father. He worked as a boat mate and later a captain on sport fishing boats every summer in high school and college. After graduating from Southwest Texas State University with a degree in marketing, he joined a yacht brokerage firm where he was consistently a top selling agent.
In 1989 Mark moved to Florida and a few years later joined HMY Yachts. His passion for the boating industry inspired him to co-write and publish the PowerBoat Guide marine reference books. Starting the research in 1987, Mark and his co-author published the first annual PowerBoat Guide in 1989.
