Creating a slick new version of the 52C, the 52ST is like creating a “version within a version”, but is something we have come to expect from the Viking R&D division. With over 45 years of custom boat and yacht building innovation paired with on-site experience for the highest quality control in the industry, Viking is poised to stay at the top. And the 52 Sport Tower, a spinoff of the 52 Convertible is no exception.
Featuring efficiency at every level of design, the 52ST features model strakes for increased lift and speed, a 12-degree deadrise on its transom, the signature resin-infused hull with a specially-designed mix of Aramid and E-glass knitted fiberglass laminates and more. Its hull also features end-grain balsa and foam coring, custom blended modified epoxy and polyester resins and vacuum-bagged composite bulkheads. This powerhouse is read to destroy the competition in the tournament no matter where you take it. Debuting just over a year ago, this gorgeous vessel has been turning heads since.
The elegant deck assembly mold, which includes a three-sided fiberglass deckhouse that is climate-controlled with a raised command bridge helm station for supreme visibility, is fashioned in-house by Viking using their five-axis profile milling machine. The bridge features a U-shaped lounge and fiberglass consoles with three helm seats by Stidd. Nearby is the refrigerator and the signature pop-up flat-screen TV coming out of the fine teak adorning the interior.
At the helm, the hydraulic steering assisted by DC power matched to the vessels stainless-steel rudders give you a sense of control over the ship you would not normally imagine. This yacht is the sport fishing angler’s dream. Custom designed tuna towers by Palm Beach towers and custom navigational systems and communication as well as entertainment is all custom installed by Atlantic Marine Electronics, Viking’s sister company. The 142 square-foot cockpit boasts twin mezzanine seating with stowage and built in freezer, as well as a step box cooler, engine access, recessed in-deck fish boxes and a walk-through transom door with lift gate. Single-lever controls put the power of twin MAN V8 1200 CRM common rail diesels putting your dream at a smooth mid-30 knots on the water up to a strong 40 in ideal conditions.
