Strike

Strike Yachts was founded in 1977 as the small-boat division of welded aluminum fishing-boat builder Striker. Where Striker operated out of Fort Lauderdale and built its large yachts overseas, Strike was based in South Florida and sold its boats factory direct in Deerfield Beach. Strike was best known for its series of inboard-powered offshore fishing boats including the Strike 29 Cuddy introduced in 1986 and, more recently, the Strike 35 Cuddy. Because Strikes are semi-custom boats, buyers were able to stipulate whatever fishing features desired. Standard equipment usually included freshwater and saltwater washdowns, a helm leaning post, coaming pads, and several macerated fish boxes. Construction consists of a solid fiberglass hull to the gunwale and Nida-Core composite-cored hatches and decks. Distinguished by their muscular, low-freeboard appearance and innovative power systems (including optional jet drive propulsion), used Strike boats are noted for their functional deck layouts, economical operation, and comfortable — if wet — ride.
