The new Viking 50 Series takes innovation to the next level!

From first cut to the first sea trial, the Viking 50 series is a bold new chapter. The convertible, Billfish, sport coupe, sport tower, and open, all designed and built under one roof. Viking has a long history of using convertible hulls to develop multiple models. The 50 open of the late 1990s was an offspring of the convertible. Over time, we developed several models off the same hull as the convertible, including the 48 open and then the 48 sport coupe. In the new 50 series, we've expanded those models from the convertible, open SC. Now we have an additional model for this series, the 50 Billfish. Each model carries its own personality, a signature look with differences that shape the boat's purpose and mission. The four models of this series share the same hull with the characteristics of the sheer, chines, and our running surface. The advantages there with our modified V-hull and our CFD testing and all the refinements we bring down from the larger boats. Also another big similarity in those models are on the topsides of the deck, our flush deck bringing into that smaller size boat. 48 had a step deck and the 50 now has a flush deck across all four models. When we attacked the design in the 50 Billfish, we wanted to bring a lot of the traits and differences of that series from a convertible. The largest trait you'll find is more square footage area of the cockpit. From there we go up to the bridge with an inset classic style bridge interior. We're doing a centerline salon door into a salon with a split galley forward. Delivering them at the same time takes tooling and R&D on a scale only Viking can achieve.
