Since the Viking 68 Convertible was launched five years ago, HMY has had the pleasure of building many versions of this excellent mid-sized convertible both for retail customers and for stock. However, when HMY had the opportunity to build two 68s for stock during Summer 2024, the team decided to build two different versions to satisfy two different buyers. 68-055 (recently sold) is a snow-white traditional 68 Convertible tower boat with an elegant décor of white and blues. For 68-056 however, the team decided to push the envelope by ordering the very first 68 Convertible with a molded- in staircase in the cockpit.

The molded-in staircase option has been very popular for smaller-sized convertibles such as the 54, 58, and 64, with very few examples with the larger models, and in the past have been ordered by customers who are looking to have a very fast cruising sportfish. However, HMY is seeing more customers who are heavy anglers simply looking for extra comfort by having the luxury of walking up a flight of stairs rather than climbing the ladder. That is why HMY decided to order 68-056 with this configuration. The molded-in staircase option consists of a molded fiberglass staircase that starts to the STBD side of the salon door and ends at the entrance of the flybridge, teak tread steps with bullnose edges, and strip lights underneath of each step for extra safety.

68-056 is an open bridge version with a Palm Beach Towers Hardtop and is being constructed as with a Pamlico Blue Gelcoat Hull Color, a deleted bow pulpit, and with a handsome combination of faux teak complimented with a teak cockpit/mezzanine and teak coaming and covering boards. The décor will be tasteful with a great combination of white taupes, and light browns. With the cockpit molded-in staircase, the salon day head is not affected. Rather, the day-head will be moved at an angle giving preference of entering the space through the cockpit. The cabinetry will slightly change, with the pop-up TV being removed, and the TV will be moved to the dinette.

How's it going, everybody? I'm Forrest Robertson of HMY Yacht Sales. Today, we're going to take you through the all-new 2025-68 Viking Convertible with Molded-In Staircase. This boat is available for immediate delivery through HMY. Immediately boarding and entering into the boat, you'll notice that the cockpit is just an absolute massive workspace. You have access to your two in-deck fish boxes, centerline sea keeper 26 access hatch, your transom live well that doubles as a fish box, and then off to your starboard side, you have a transom door with a lift gate for sliding those big fish through. Off to my left-hand side here on the mezzanine, we have access to refrigeration on your first step, freezer storage beneath the mezzanine seating, engine room access centerline, and then we have access to your salon door with additional drink box refrigeration, and then storage off to your right-hand side. Finally, off to the starboard side of the mezzanine, we opted for a molded-in staircase on the 68 Viking. So rather than climbing a ladder, the molded-in staircase gives you the option to get from the cockpit to the bridge in a safe manner. Here we are on the flybridge of the 68 Viking Convertible. One thing that really updates this vessel in addition to the molded-in staircase is the updated sun lounge helm. Here at our helm, you can see we immediately have three Cetrons screens recessed in a black acrylic dash, your radio box is port and starboard side, drop-down box overhead, and then your teaser reels directly overhead. This boat was also spec'd with Blue Water helm chairs. One thing that I find really neat is the magnetic holders that are incorporated into the backrest cushions. On top of the 360-degree views that you have from up here at the flybridge, a really nice thing is you have this forward-facing sun lounge with plenty of refrigeration underneath, your two port and starboard bench seats, and then directly in front of you have flybridge air conditioner blowing on you at all times. Here we are standing in the salon of the 68 Viking Convertible. Off to the starboard side, we have the day head immediately as you walk in the salon door. And then on the port side, you have L-shaped couch. As we pass through the salon and into the galley looking aft, you notice that there's still an ample amount of living space even with the molded-in staircase and the day head in the 68 Convertible. Off to my right here, we have a U-shaped dinette with tackle storage below. And then immediately forward, we have a nice Samsung flat screen TV. Off to the left of me here, we step into our island galley. As you notice, we have three bar stools directly aft. We have a second tier countertop for serving. You do get three refrigerators and three Sub-Zero freezers in the island galley setup. And then as you can see, we have a Miele stovetop and plenty of additional cabinet storage overhead. Moving downstairs on the 68 Viking Convertible, the companionway gives you access to all four staterooms. Immediately on your right, you enter into the crew stateroom, which has two bunks in there, upper and lower, a full head with a separate shower stall, and then access to your engine room. Here we are in the master stateroom of the 68 Viking Convertible. The oversized berth is surrounded by hanging lockers as well as full height closets, entertainment systems throughout, and then direct access to your head with a full-size shower stall. Off to the port forward side of the companionway, we have our guest bunk room with upper and lower bunks, storage underneath, TV as well, and then direct access to your head and a full-size shower stall for your guest. All the way at the front end of the boat, we enter into the VIP stateroom. Here in the VIP stateroom, we have plenty of headroom, natural light coming in from the Bomar hatch. Your VIP also has its own entertainment with its own television. And this is going to be a great spot for special guests with direct access to their own head as well. The engine room contains a pair of 12V 2000 MTU M96 motors, which push this boat quite comfortably at cruising speed. Other features throughout the engine room include SpotZero watermaker combo unit, Bruno Omni sonar, two common zone and generators, electro sea system, along with many more components that make this vessel quite a fishing machine. Thanks again for watching this video and taking a tour of the 2025 68 Viking Convertible with us.
