At this past Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, we caught up with David Johnson, CEO of Johnson & Towers, to discuss their upcoming Viking demo build. David shared exciting details on the hull color, teak upgrades, and—of course—what will power this build: the newest addition to the MTU lineup, the all-new MTU 12V 2000 M96Z. We're here with David Johnson, the CEO of Johnson & Towers. You guys are getting ready to build the 64 Viking with the brand new MTUs that are coming out. What's the 64 gonna look like? Thank you, Riley. We're super excited to build our seventh Viking over the last 25 or so years. Every so often we build a demo to promote a new engine that comes out. And this year we're building a 64 with the new MTU 2,222 horsepower 12V2000 M96Z engine. And super excited about this boat because we're hoping and we're hearing it could be the fastest Viking ever built. And on top of that, we're doing a special hull color, Chevy white. And I don't think a Viking has ever been built with Chevy white. So stay tuned to see the color of the hull moving forward. The boat's just going in the mold now. We'll be taking the engines down and put them in the boat beginning of January. You know, the boat's gonna be completely set up for fishing. Some of the things we're doing, we're doing a lot of faux teak work on the boat. You know, we'll have the fighting chair, all teak cockpit. And you know, we're about as most excited with this boat than any boat we've ever built with Viking. So, you know, stay tuned.
