Hello, I'm Michael P. Strauss with HMY Yacht Sales. I've had the great joy of being raised in a boating family. When we relocated from Buffalo, New York, it was because my father was employed to help start the AquaSport boat manufacturing plant and build the entire dealer network. And I was by his side through the entire process. My dad's first dealer was Bob Hughes. Bob Hughes and I became very good friends and I spent the next 15 years of my life working at Bob Hughes Boats, building and designing bonefish boats for the likes of Kirk Gowdy and Al Pfluger, and testing new products like Kevlar and Divinicel and Klejicel. Before that stuff was common, we were making bonefish boats as light and as strong as we possibly could. That led to bigger sport fishing boats and I was drawn from Bob Hughes Boats to Hatteras of Lauderdale. At Hatteras of Lauderdale, we took on the Tierra Pursuit line where I became part of the sales training team for all of the dealer network and I was the number one salesperson for Tierra Pursuit of the world. Every single day, I get to help families use the most precious time in their life to enjoy the water and the experiences brought on by boating and yachting in South Florida. It's my passion.
