Overview
A tour de force of Viking engineering, the comfortable four-stateroom accommodations of the 64C make extending cruising a pleasure.
The 64 Convertible is yet another example of how Viking Yachts has come to dominate today’s market for big sportfishing convertibles. By Viking standards, the 64C was a midsize yacht when she was introduced in 2006, falling near the middle of a model lineup ranging from 45 to 74 feet. With her wide 19-foot, 2-inch beam, the wide-open interior is a compelling blend of designer fabrics, granite counters, and flawless teak joinery. In the standard four-stateroom layout, the upper level has a huge galley forward to port, dinette opposite, barstools at the counter, and a comfortable L-shaped leather sofa aft. Below, the amidship master suite has an angled queen berth and en suite head compartment, and the forward VIP cabin has a centerline queen berth with adjoining head and shower. To starboard are two guest cabins, one with upper and lower berths and the other with twin lower berths. A mezzanine deck overlooks the 64's vast 180 square-foot cockpit complete with refrigerated step box, in-deck livewell, transom fishbox, and transom door. An enclosed bridge model with direct salon access was optional. Caterpillar 1,825hp C32 engines cruise at 30–32 knots (mid-to-high 30s top). Upgraded MTU 16V2000 2,030hp engines were optional.
ENCLOSED BRIDGE
The air conditioned upper helm, complete with TV, sofa and aft controls, is reached from a spiral staircase in the salon.
INTERIOR
With her wide 19-foot, 2-inch beam, the interior dimensions of the Viking 64 Convertible rival those of many small motor yachts.
