Yellowfin
31
2001–07
There are many high-performance 30-foot-plus center consoles on the used market these days, but few combine the high-tech construction and advanced hull design of the Yellowfin 31. Built on a fully cored stepped hull with a keel pad, the Yellowfin 31 is quick to accelerate and fast across the water even when the going gets rough. In a departure from most big center consoles, the transom bulkhead is fitted with rod holders rather than a livewell. (A huge 60-gallon in-deck livewell is standard and a second 30-gallon above deck livewell was optional.) The Yellowfin’s deck layout is notable for its practical design and generous storage. The T-top is ideally suited for easy control of outriggers, and there’s plenty of space for flush-mounting electronics at the helm. Forward, a giant in-deck fish box measures a full five feet in length. Additional features include pop-up deck hardware, high-performance K-Plane trim tabs, coaming bolster pads from the console aft, enclosed head/storage compartment, and a transom door. A favorite of guides and serious anglers alike, the Yellowfin 31 is a notably weight-efficient boat. Twin 250hp Suzuki outboards will deliver a top speed of 50+ knots.
