Yellowfin
26 Hybrid
2015–Current
The Yellowfin 26 Hybrid—the “hybrid” refers to the boat’s unique mix of shallow water and offshore fishing abilities—combines the quality construction and stepped-hull performance that Yellowfin owners have come to expect over the years, but in a smaller package. The Hybrid’s forward casting deck features recessed handrails and insulated in-deck storage bin, and five vertical rod holders flank the forward console seat. The console opens upward from the front on gas-assist struts, and while there’s not enough room for a marine toilet there is plenty of space for life jackets and foul-weather gear, etc. Outboard of the console on each side are tip-out storage lockers, and a hatch on the forward side of the leaning post provides access to the engine batteries. A 50-gallon standup livewell is behind the two-person helm seat, and an in-floor 35-gallon well is optional. Draft is only 18 inches with the motors up. With twin engines, fuel, and gear, the 26 Hybrid tips the scales at just over 7,000 pounds which means she can be towed by a midsize SUV like the Jeep Grand Cherokee or Dodge Durango. Twin Yamaha F200 outboards deliver a top speed of 50–55 knots.
