World Cat
280 DC-X
2018–Current
The World Cat 280 DC-X combines the versatility of a dual console boat with the ride comfort and passenger capacity of a catamaran. The wide bow seating area of the 28 DC-X—made possible by the twin hulls allowing the beam to be carried well forward—makes her a far larger boat than any 28-foot mono hull dual console. The versatile layout of this good-looking cat allows her to be set up for fishing or cruising or a combination of both. The foredeck can easily serve as a casting platform for fishing, and the wide-open cockpit includes a convertible lounge and a wet bar with an optional refrigerator and electric grill. The port console conceals a roomy head with a Corian counter, mirror, and an electric toilet with a 10-gallon holding tank. The portside backrest is adjustable to create a rear-facing recliner, and the aft jump seat at the transom folds out of the way for fishing. Coaming bolsters, fore and aft rod holders, in-deck fish boxes, and a transom door are all standard and a 20-gallon livewell is optional. Overhead, the 280 DC features a fiberglass top with a powder-coated frame, spreader lights, and LED lights. Twin 200hp Yamaha outboards reach a top speed of just over 40 knots.
