World Cat
280 CC-X
2018–Current
Catamarans would be a lot more popular if anglers could get past their untraditional, boxy appearance. That's too bad because no one disputes a cat’s superior ride and extraordinary rough water handling. The 280 CC-X is a departure from earlier, less curvy World Cat predecessors. Integrated docking lights give the boat a cleaner look, and a sleek hard top—integrated into the windshield—and three-sided glass enclosure contribute to her modern appearance. In the end, the 280 CC-X will sell herself of features and comfort. The wraparound bow seating comes with an insulated drink cooler and two large storage compartments underneath. The console seat opens for access to a roomy head compartment with near-standing headroom. Twin bolster seats at the helm double as a leaning post over a 30-gallon livewell and tackle storage. Raw- and freshwater washdowns, port and starboard 355-quart in-deck fish boxes, and a fold-down transom bench seat are standard in the cockpit. Notably, this is the first powercat of its size and type to employ a through-hull anchoring system. Twin F200 Yamaha outboards power the 280 DC-X to a top speed of over 40 knots.
