Vista
46 Motor Yacht
1984–88
The Vista 46 MY (also known as the Kha Shing 46 and, on the West Coast, the Spindrift 46) is a well-built family cruiser with a contemporary profile and generous interior accommodations. Like many Taiwan-built motor yachts of her era, she was constructed on a solid fiberglass semi-displacement hull with a relatively sharp bow entry and a shallow keel running nearly the full length of the bottom. Several floorplans were offered in this boat (each importer was able to specify a different layout), although most were two-stateroom arrangements with the galley and dinette down and a rather spacious salon. A lower helm and deck access door were standard—conveniences seldom found on modern motor yachts this size. Both heads came with separate stall showers, and the engine room can be reached from the aft cabin as well as by removing the hatches in the salon sole. The aft deck is very spacious for a 46-footer, and the flybridge helm is notably well arranged (compared to some of the Taiwan boats we’ve seen). Among several power options, Cat 375hp cruise the Vista 46 at 16–18 knots.
