Viking Yachts
54 Convertible
2008–12
A midsize sportfishing yacht of enduring popularity, the success of this first-generation Viking 54 Convertible owes much to her state-of-the-art construction and proven performance. Making full use of the 17’8” beam, the layout accentuates the impressive size of her interior. Entering the salon through a sliding electric door, it’s rare to find barstools at the galley counter in a boat this size. In a clever design feature, the seat and seatback of the L-shaped salon sofa lift as a single unit for easy access to the storage area below. The 54’s three-stateroom two-head layout includes a midships master with a queen berth and en suite head. The guest stateroom to starboard has upper and lower berths, and the forward guest/VIP stateroom has a queen island berth. Both guest staterooms have private access to the second head where a washer/dryer is also housed. An alternate arrangement substitutes the forward queen with crossover single and double berths. Mezzanine seating overlooks the huge cockpit. A meticulous standup engine room and a varnished teak helm pod are reminders of Viking’s production-boat excellence. MAN 1,550hp V12 engines cruise at 33–34 knots (nearly 40 knots top).
