270Z
2015–20
One of the largest bay boats ever built, the 270Z is a stable fishing platform with serious offshore potential. Bay boats are all about deck space and the 270Z has plenty. Quoting from the SeaVee web site, “Oversize bow and aft casting platforms are connected by wide gunwales that make walking from bow to stern safe and easy. Eliminating the space hogging splash well further enlarges the overall size of the aft platform making it the largest currently available on any boat in this class.” The entire foredeck of the 270Z is a huge casting deck with five stowage compartments under and a 24-gallon livewell beneath the step up to the casting deck. There are twin storage lockers under the aft deck as well as a second livewell. Rod lockers are large enough to accommodate fly rods up to 9 feet, and the console holds up to 11 rods with a hardtop and up to 14 without. The leaning post will accommodate two with seating for two more on a jump seat that lifts up from the aft casting platform. Built on a high performance twin-step hull, a single 350hp outboard delivers a top speed of 40–45 knots. Twin 250hp outboards reach speeds in excess of 55 knots.
