48 Enclosed Bridge
1996–2004
The Riviera 48 racked up some impressive sales figures during her production years, the result of her striking good looks, spacious interior, and a very competitive price. Like all Rivieras, the 48 is heavily built on a solid fiberglass hull with a wide beam and a shallow keel. For an extra margin of safety, a collision bulkhead is forward and two watertight bulkheads are built into the engine room. Several three-stateroom interiors were offered in the Riviera, and while a lower helm was standard in the early years, later models were delivered with a dinette forward in place of the helm. The master stateroom could be located in the bow or to starboard for those who prefer a quieter ride while underway. Topside, the Riviera’s fully enclosed flybridge offers exceptional visibility in addition to a comfortable seating arrangement for guests to mingle with the captain. Additional features include cherry interior trim, full entertainment center, leather upholstery, transom door, molded tackle center, swim platform, and cockpit access to the engine room. Cat 660hp diesels cruise in the mid 20s, and 800hp Cats cruise in the high 20s and reach 30+ knots wide open.
